فيه المختار من كلام الإمام علي بن أبي طالب في الخطب والمواعظ والحِكَم وغيرها. ويعد جمع نهج البلاغة من أبرز ما تركه الشريف الرضي. تنوع موضوعات نهج البلاغة: معارف راقية في التوحيد، مثل إلهية سامية، نصائح ومواعظ، بيان وتحليل للأحداث السياسية والاجتماعية، عهود للولاة وتنبيههم وغير ذلك. بعد مقدمة قصيرة، يضع المؤلف كلام علي في ثلاثة أقسام: الخطب والكتب والحكم، مضيفاً إليه ـ كلما اقتضى الأمر ـ توضيحات مختصرة مفيدة.

وقد احتوى نهج البلاغة على 241 خطبة، و79 كتاباً، و480 حكمة من حكم علي. حاول السيد الرضي في نهج البلاغة ـ كما يشير اسم الكتاب ـ إلى انتقاء أبلغ وأجمل الأحاديث المروية عن علي ليضعها في هذا الكتاب. وهذه الخصوصية هي سر بقاء الكتاب وخلوده على الرغم من أحداث التاريخ العصيبة وسبب شهرته عدّ بعض الباحثين نحواً من 370 مؤلفاً حول نهج البلاغة من الشرح والتفسير والترجمة وغيرها، وقد طبعت إلى الآن نحو من خمس عشرة ترجمة لنهج البلاغة. وهذا ما يوضح إلى حد ما مكانة الكتاب وقيمته بين المسلمين. ومن أشهر تحقيقات نهج البلاغة تحقيق محمد عبده وصبحي الصالح.

The book Nahj al-Balagha, authored by Ali ibn Abi Talib, is a collection of selected sayings of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib, including sermons, admonitions, wisdom, and other pronouncements. This collection is considered one of Sharif al-Radi's most significant contributions. The topics covered in Nahj al-Balagha are diverse: profound knowledge of monotheism, such as sublime divine attributes; advice and admonitions; commentary and analysis of political and social events; covenants and admonitions to governors; and more. After a brief introduction, the author divides Ali's sayings into three sections: sermons, letters, and wisdom, adding concise and helpful explanations as needed.

Nahj al-Balagha contains 241 sermons, 79 letters, and 480 aphorisms attributed to Ali. As the title suggests, Sharif al-Radi sought to select the most eloquent and beautiful sayings of Ali for inclusion in this book. This unique characteristic is the secret to the book's survival and enduring relevance despite the turbulent events of history, and the reason for its fame. Some scholars have counted around 370 works on Nahj al-Balaghah, including commentaries, interpretations, translations, and other works. To date, approximately fifteen translations of Nahj al-Balaghah have been published. This illustrates, to some extent, the book's stature and value among Muslims. Among the most famous editions of Nahj al-Balaghah are those by Muhammad Abduh and Subhi al-Salih.
